Micro Projector is inspired by analog scientific devices from the 18th Century, combining elements of the Magic Lantern and the microscope to create shadow images.

The slides for the micro projector are glass slide mounts intended to hold film, my slides hold similarly flat materials ( wool, snake skin, bark fibres, spider silk etc.) that react to the light as cast shadow and occasionally as transparencies like the snake scales.

Magnifying projector made with lenses, glass slide mounts and an LED  flashlight

The device sits on a wood and metal track that holds the lenses in place with magnets. The interaction of the lenses produces distortions, enlargements and transitions from the movement of the slides and lenses.
